Box Office hits of 2012

The avengers -

If you didn't see "The Avengers" in its opening weekend, you might have been the only one: the superhero mash-up scored the biggest opening weekend ever with an estimated $200.3 million in its first three days. The story of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and co. trying to save the world from an evil alien army is a smashing crowd-pleaser, complete with big explosions, confusing scientific jargon and winks toward the Marvel diehards.

Dr. Seuss' timeless children's book "The Lorax". Produced by the same people who brought you "despicable me" (2010) and featuring the voices of Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Taylor Swift, Zac Efron, and Betty White, the movie builds on the original story of a little orange creature with a big yellow mustache who speaks loudly for the endangered trees.

21 Jump street -

A big-screen version of the '90s TV show ditches the teen angst, adds laughs and keeps just the right amount of Depp! Even better, jonah hill and Channing Tatum are an inspired duo.  young cops posing as high school students to nab baddies. But that's really just a jumping off point for some great observations on how youth changes from generation to generation. Who knew kids these days wear their backpacks on both shoulders?

Joined by his new stepfather (Dwayne Johnson), an adventure-seeking helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman), and the pilot's headstrong daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), Sean navigates the crumbling stone corridors of Atlantis and comes face-to-face with bizarre life-forms while on a mission to track down his long-missing grandfather (Michael Caine). Later, as seismic shock waves threaten mass destruction, the group must race to escape the otherworldly paradise before the ocean swallows it up

The Hunger Games -

If you have not seen the hunger games, you are totally 100 percent CRAZY!! It's like Harry Potter and Lord of the rings both in one, it has plenty of action and that perfect amount of romance. This films stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh the hunk Hutcherson and of course Liam Hemsworth. Jennifer who is the spunky hardass Katniss Everdeen is fighting for her life in the Hunger games.
